KU-band

The KU-band, from 12 - 18 GHz, is used for satellite communication connections. Mainly for fixed and broadcast services. The KU-band is split into different segments that vary by geographical region by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The Ku band is not only used for television transmission, which some sources imply, but also very much for digital data transmission via satellites, and for voice/audio transmissions (telephony services).
